- Customer: a customer is a person that has a continuing relationship with Peoples Bank & Trust Co. for a personal, family, or household purpose
- Affiliate: an affiliate is a company Peoples Bank & Trust Co. owns or controls, a company that owns or controls us, or a company that is owned or controlled by the same company that owns or controls us
- Nonaffiliated third party: a nonaffiliated third party is a company that is not an affiliate of Peoples Bank & Trust Co.
- We, our and us mean Peoples Bank & Trust Co.
- You and your mean present and former customers of Peoples Bank & Trust Co.
We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:
- Information we receive from you on applications or other forms you provide us;
- Information that we receive from processing your accounts with us and the transactions in those accounts, as well asinformation that we receive from providing services to you; and
- Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency.
We may disclose nonpublic information about you to nonaffiliated third parties as permitted by law. We do not disclose nonpublic personal information about former customers to nonaffiliated third parties except as permitted by law.
It is the policy of Peoples Bank & Trust Co. to assure that the information it has about its customers is accurate. It is also the policy of Peoples Bank & Trust Co. that information it has about its customers is highly confidential and should only be available to persons who have a need for the information to properly service a customer’s account, act upon a customer’s request, or to fulfill that person’s job responsibility. Peoples Bank & Trust Co. has extensive security procedures that insure that its confidentiality policy is followed. Customer information is maintained in paper-based files and electronic databases. All paper-based files are kept under control of a file custodian. The custodian restricts access to the files to only personnel who need this information to properly carry out his or her job responsibility. The bank’s automation systems have a complex set of passwords, user identifications and terminal identifications that limits each employee’s access to information that he or she requires to properly carry out his or her job responsibility. In addition, Peoples Bank & Trust Co. has a complex system of “firewalls” surrounding its automation systems to ensure that access by unauthorized persons is prevented.
